Following are essentials that must be put into place in order to see disciple-making movements that multiply to fourth and fifth generation:
- Prayer. Ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8). We need to prayer walk and possess the territory given to us by God. Pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and that signs and wonders will be done in His name. (Acts 2: 17-18; 4: 29-30). Pray and prepare laborers. (Matt. 9:37-38)
-
Set Goals and Plan! Paul ran with focus and a goal. (Philippians 3:14). Share your plan and report your results as the disciples did. (Luke 10:17)
-
Develop a lifestyle of “Seeking a person of peace” and “Saving the lost.” (Luke 10). Persons of peace have been prepared by God for His work in the harvest field. Persons of peace are willing and able to take the Gospel to others, especially their own oikos group.
-
Focus on households/families/affinity groups (oikos), not individuals.
-
Abundant sowing. You have to train (MANY believers) and disciple (MANY new persons of peace) so that you will find those the Spirit is raising up as breakthrough people – disciple-makers of disciple-makers." Ying Kai said: "Do whatever it takes to fill your schedule with DBS and training groups.”
-
Live and teach every disciple to obey Matthew 28:18-20 following the DNA of movement:

Scripture: Scripture is foundational and the source of all teaching and preaching. Scripture leads to principles, which lead to practice. (DBS).
-
Disciples: Make disciples, not converts. Converts focus on religion. Disciples focus on Jesus and obedience to His teachings.
-
Obedience: Teach obedience to the Word, not doctrine. Doctrine is our church’s teaching from the Bible as well as the historical practices of the church. It may be highly interpretive, and may not consider the full counsel of the Bible.
-
Communities of Believers (church): Form new believers into Discovery Groups with as few extrabiblical practices and beliefs as possible so that they become Communities of Believers (churches) who transform families and communities.
-
Reproducing: Reproducing disciples, leaders, groups, and churches becomes a part of the group DNA.
-
Reaching out (missions): Reaching out to all segments of society becomes a part of the group DNA as a result of obedience to the Great Commission (missions) and the Great Commandments.
